Redpepper Solutions is a leading provider of web-based management solutions to the hospitality sector. Its management systems for Stock, Cash and Staff have been adopted by some of the most successful and fastest growing restaurant companies in the UK, including Gondola Holdings (Pizza Express, Ask, Zizzi). Redpepper were looking to build on their success by introducing a Business Intelligence system to allow detailed analysis of the data collated by the transactional systems. The requirement was to deliver BI over the Internet, analysing areas such as stock wastage and the impact of recipe changes on sales margins.

With specialists in Web development and transactional SQL Server systems in house, Redpepper was looking for an introduction to OLAP systems and training to allow staff to take on development and management of BI. They had elected to build the solution on a Microsoft platform, using Analysis Services and Proclarity. We built a prototype solution which we presented to management, and they then subsequently presented it to key clients. We then worked alongside Redpepper staff to develop a production version. Within 2 months, our involvement was no longer required, and Redpepper were able to further enhance the solution in house, whilst retaining the option to turn to us for further advice.
